How Digital Ring Sizer Measures Ring Size & Accuracy
This tool turns a measurement into the closest matching row in its shared ring-size chart. It is a practical estimate, not a professional fitting.

What the tool actually measures
Existing Ring Mode
The on-screen circle represents a ring’s inner diameter. You align the inside edge of a ring that already fits; the app then looks up the closest chart entry.
Finger Strip Mode
You enter the marked length around a finger as circumference in millimetres. The app finds the closest circumference row in that same chart.
The calculator uses the same chart for a known diameter or circumference, while the converter starts with a known India, US, UK or EU label and displays its matching row.
Why screen calibration exists
A screen’s pixels do not automatically correspond to a physical millimetre measurement. Calibration asks you to match an on-screen reference to a standard card edge: either the 85.60 mm long edge or the 53.98 mm short edge. That match lets the Existing Ring guide draw its circle at a physical size on that device.
The card match is saved locally on the device. If browser zoom, display scale or viewport scale changes, Existing Ring Mode treats the saved match as stale and asks for recalibration before it shows a final result.
Existing Ring method
Use a ring that fits the intended finger on the intended hand. Place the phone flat, view the ring from directly above, and align the inner edge—not the outside metal rim—to the guide.
A tilted phone, a ring viewed at an angle, a loose ring, or an outer-edge match can change the diameter you are comparing.
Finger Strip method
The strip method uses circumference: the marked length around the chosen finger. Keep the strip comfortably snug rather than pulled tight, then repeat the reading before you rely on it.
Changing tension changes the length entered into the tool, so the app cannot correct for a strip that was squeezed or left loose.
How size matching works
For a supplied diameter or circumference, Digital Ring Sizer compares that value with the shared chart and selects the nearest row for that measurement type. It then shows the India, US, UK and EU labels stored on that row. A known-size conversion reads the matching row directly.
The chart is a product reference, not a claim that every jeweller or manufacturer labels a ring identically.
